Breathwork at The Breath Hut can be a powerful and transformative practice that may create emotional, mental, and physical effects.

What to Expect During Breathwork

During a breathwork session, you may experience:

  • Changes in your breathing pattern

  • Tingling, warmth, numbness or muscle spasms

  • Emotional release (e.g., crying, laughter, memories surfacing)

  • Light-headedness or dizziness

  • Deep relaxation, clarity, or altered states of awareness

Everyone's experience is different. No specific outcome or result can be guaranteed.

Important Health Information (Contraindications)

Breathwork can create strong physical and emotional responses. For safety reasons, the following conditions require medical clearance or a discussion with Rob before participating:

  • Epilepsy

  • Detached retina or glaucoma

  • Recent surgery or injury

  • Serious osteoporosis

  • High blood pressure not controlled by medication

  • Cardiovascular issues, including prior heart attack, stroke, irregular heartbeat, seizures

  • Pregnancy

  • Asthma (you must bring your inhaler if you attend)

  • Bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, or significant psychiatric conditions

  • Hospitalisation for a mental health crisis within the past 10 years

  • PTSD with active or strong symptoms (therapist approval required)

  • Any other medical, psychiatric, or physical condition that may limit your ability to safely participate

Not a Substitute for Medical or Psychological Care

Breathwork at The Breath Hut is designed to support holistic wellbeing, relaxation, and emotional balance.
It does NOT diagnose, treat, or replace medical or psychological care. You remain fully responsible for your physical and mental health and for seeking appropriate professional support when needed.

Your Responsibility & Informed Consent

By attending a breathwork session with Rob Richings at The Breath Hut, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have read and understood the information on this page.

  • The health information you provide is accurate, complete, and up to date.

  • You will inform Rob of any changes to your health or wellbeing.

  • You understand breathwork may involve physical and emotional intensity.

  • You can pause or stop the session at any time.

  • No specific results or outcomes are promised or guaranteed.

  • You accept full responsibility for your physical, emotional, and mental wellbeing during and after the session.

You will also be asked to read and sign a Breathwork Waiver & Release of Liability before your first session.
This ensures you have additional protection and clarity.

Before Your Session To prepare:

  • Wear comfortable clothing

  • Avoid heavy meals and alcohol beforehand

  • Stay hydrated

  • Bring any relevant medication (e.g., inhaler)

  • Come with an open mind and no expectations

    Aftercare

    After your session, you may wish to:

    • Rest or take time to integrate your experience

    • Drink water

    • Journal or reflect

    • Reach out if you have concerns about your emotional or physical state

    Support is available , you’re not expected to navigate emotional experiences alone.
